Missions :
                      

The Division of Industry, Trade and Tourism is responsible for monitoring Government’s industrial, trade and tourism policy.

In this capacity, it is in charge of the processing and follow-up of files relating to the following fields:

  • Domestic consumption, prices and inflation;
  • Trade policy;
  • Border markets;
  • Crafts, SMEs, SMIs;
  • Tourism and hospitality;
  • Industry and industrial policy;
  • Standardization and quality control:
  • Standards and industrial safety;
  • International Trade Negotiations (WTO, CAMI, UNCTAD, UNIDO);
  • Internal and external trade;
  • Promotion of private investment;
  • Cameroon Business Forum, in connection with DEPBF;
  • Socio-professional grouping;
  • Protection of the national economic space;
  • Technological development;
  • Questions of interest to the Chamber of Commerce;
  • Protection of the national commercial space;
  • Promotion of the mining sector in conjunction with DIMP;
  • Development of the social economy in conjunction with other structures concerned;
  • Activities of international organizations and international cooperation of the industrial, commercial and tourist sectors.

 

The Division of Industry, Trade and Tourism monitors the issues managed by ministries in charge of trade, SME and SMI, industry, tourism, technological development, and bodies placed under these ministries. It also advises on any draft instrument submitted to the Prime Minister relating to its field of competence.
