Minister of Labour and Social Security
THE MINISTER OF LABOUR AND SOCIAL SECURITY is responsible for the elaboration and implementation of Government policy with regard to labour relations, workers' status and social security.
As such, he has as duty to:
- develop and implement a social security and insurance policy.
- oversee the application of the Labour Code and International Conventions related to work that Cameroon has ratified;
- liaise between Government and trade unions and employers' associations;
- liaise with Institutions of the United Nations system and the African Union specialised in labour matters in collaboration with the Ministry of External Relations.
He is the liaison for Government and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and international bodies under his area of competence in collaboration with the Ministry of External Relations.
He Supervises the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS) and public or para public structures in his sector.
