Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure
THE MINISTER OF TOURISM AND LEISURE is responsible for the elaboration and the implementation of Government policy in the domain of tourism and leisure.
As such, he has as duty to:
- design draft texts on tourism, amusement parks;
- design development strategies and plans for tourism and leisure;
- promote internal tourism in collaboration with the Relevant ministries;
- carry out an inventory of and promote tourist sites;
- carry out an inventory of and promote amusement parks;
- control service quality in hotel, catering and leisure businesses;
- promote amusement parks;
- institute standards in hotel, catering and leisure businesses;
- control and check tourism establishments and amusement parks;
- monitor training in tourism and hotel business in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training.
He is the link between Government and private national or foreign associations interested in tourism in Cameroon.
He monitors the activities of the World Tourism Organisation and those of international bodies for cooperation in tourism and leisure in collaboration with the other Relevant ministries.
He supervises:
- State-owned hospitality companies;
- public training institutions in tourist and hotel business.
