The staff of the Prime Minister’s Office and those of attached services on Monday, 8 January 2018 presented New Year wishes to H.E. Philemon Yang, Prime Minister, Head of Government.
The ceremony was brief, void of speeches, but highly symbolic as it is the only moment in the year when staff shake hands with the PM and wish him a happy New Year. The Minister, Secretary General at the Prime Minister’s Office, Séraphin Magloire Fouda, was the first to present New Year wishes to the Prime Minister, followed by the staff of the Secretariat General. On their heels were the staff of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet, led by the Minister, Director of Cabinet, Professor Paul Ghogomu Mingo.
Thereafter, officials and staff of seven attached services and institutions placed under the Prime Minister’s Office took turns to present New Year wishes to the Prime Minister. The institutions included the National Communication Council, National Programme on Governance, National Road Board and Permanent Secretariat of the Regulatory and Competitiveness Board, Permanent Secretariat of the National Decentralisation Council, Contracts Regulatory Agency and Technical Secretariat of the National Committee for the Organization of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The security service and the special brigade of reporters and the protocol were the last to present New Year wishes to the Prime Minister. It was an opportunity for the staff of the Prime Minister’s Office to interact with one another and share ideas over a glass of wine.
