Prime Minister Dion Ngute has convened a meeting to brainstorm on the ground work for pre-dialogue consultations ahead of the Major National dialogue announced by Head of State Paul Biya during his address to the nation on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
Barely twenty four hours after the President of the Republic addressed the nation in a rare address, the Head of Government in his capacity as coordinator and chair of the dialogue jump started consultations prior to the confab billed for end of September.
Also included in the meeting were other officials from the North West and South West regions.
The meeting was held behind closed doors. However information gleaned from the corridors revealed that the PM, flanked by the ministers and the other officials took time off to assess and analyse the message of the Head of State. According to these sources, the Prime Minister wants work to begin immediately.
The Head of Government instructed officials from the two English speaking regions to talk to Regional Governors.
Governors on their part will beinstructed on what to do as they will be responsible for sending invitations and conveying to Yaounde those who will be invited by the Prime Minister for consultations.
The The Prime Minister equally gave the officials a website and an email address to put at the disposal of the public so that people can send in their contributions. The PM has also put in place a virtual platform through which he can consult personalities both in the country and in the diaspora everyday.
At the end of the exercise, the Prime Minister will build up a package which will be forwarded to the President of the Republic.
The meeting lasted close to one hour.
